What is LinkedIn training and why does it matter to your business?
By Niraj Kapur, 17th October 2024
Every day I get spammed by lead gen companies, marketing agencies and social selling businesses.
They all claim they can get me 15 to 75 leads per month, or grow my business by 80 to 100%. And every single one of them makes the same mistakes. Their LinkedIn profiles aren't optimised. They rarely write content or engage with anyone. They promise a personalised approach, then send mass-produced, copy-and-paste messages to people they've never spoken to. One of them sent me a love heart on first contact. A love heart. To someone they'd never met.
Right now, 60% of buyers are making no decision at all. The sales environment is harder than it's been in years. So the last thing you need is bad LinkedIn advice from someone who doesn't practise what they preach.
What is LinkedIn training?
When business owners and sales teams come to me, they usually have the same questions. How do I make my profile look credible? How do I write content that gets seen? How do I generate leads without spamming people? And - the one I hear most often - can you just do it for me?
Here's what proper LinkedIn training actually covers.
Profile optimisation is where most people need to start. Your profile is your shop window. If it looks like it was written in 2019 and hasn't been touched since, that matters - because the people you're trying to reach will check it before they respond to anything you send.
Content is where most people get stuck. I teach you what to write, how to structure it, and how to stay consistent without spending half your working day on it. Going viral is not the goal. Writing content that reaches the right people and starts the right conversations is.
Lead generation is where it all comes together. I'll show you the step-by-step sequences that work, the outreach approaches that don't get ignored, and how to convert a conversation into a meeting. Most people focus entirely on generating leads and forget that converting them is the harder part.
Accountability is the bit most LinkedIn training skips. Without it, you go back to your desk, get on with the rest of your work, and forget everything you've learned within a fortnight. I build accountability into everything I do.
Why LinkedIn training matters more than Google can tell you
You can spend weeks trawling through Google trying to piece together a LinkedIn strategy from blog posts, YouTube videos and advice that contradicts itself. Some people do. They spend months doing this and still aren't sure what they're doing or whether it's working.
Or you hire someone who's actually done it, built a following, generated clients from it, and can show you how to do the same in less than a day.
There's also the question of budget. You don't need to spend £5,000 or £10,000. But if you pay peanuts, you know what you get.
Good LinkedIn training gives you more knowledge, more confidence, and a clearer sense of what you're doing and why. It makes you more creative with your content. It helps your career, your personal brand, and your sales results. And it saves you from the years of confusion that come with trying to work it all out yourself.
LinkedIn training for sales teams and businesses
I deliver LinkedIn training for individuals, small business owners and corporate sales teams across the UK and Ireland, including Belfast, Dublin and Liverpool. Sessions can be delivered face to face or online, and everything I teach is practical, specific and built around your situation - not a generic workshop with slides you'll never look at again.
If you're ready to get more from LinkedIn, start by telling me about your goals.
